Here in the states we just celebrated Labor Day, which is the last hurrah and holiday of the summer! I'm sad to see summer go, but autumn/fall is my FAVORITE season and it never seems to be long enough!

All my kids are officially back in school! My youngest just started half-day Kindergarten yesterday so I'm entering a new phase of life.
I've had a lot of questions about what I'll do with my time now that my kids are in school. Will I take a nap? Or use the time to run errands? I thought the answer would be obvious… but I'm going to write!!

I am in the midst of a myriad of emotions right now because my kids get to go back to school soon. All of them! We've been having a fun summer of bike riding and swimming, and I've loved the quality time we've spent together. But I'm also looking forward to having a few hours to myself every day to get things done (I have a book to write!)
It's been a while since I've done a sale on my backlist books so I've decided to do FIVE sales in FIVE weeks! Starting NEXT week!

I have to tell you a funny story. A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting in church with my family. We bring a few toys for our children to play with to help them keep quiet and listen during the meetings.
A few weeks ago, my daughter (who is 5) packed her own bag of quiet toys. I noticed her bag was pretty heavy but didn't ask questions because I was teaching a class that day and I was nervous and distracted.
In the middle of the church meeting, I pulled out a portable DVD player from her bag that she had packed (that no longer works) and asked her what it was for.
“Mom, I need to get some work done,” she told me, then took it from me and opened it like a laptop.
I told her that we don't work in church and she said in all seriousness, “Well, kids need to get some work done in church.”
Then she proceeded to type away at her laptop, doing her work.
It was hilarious. I wonder where she got that phrase from, lol.

With the launch of Kindle Vella last week, I had planned to go into more detail this week on how to Crown your Favorite Stories, give episodes a “thumbs up” etc. But I hated that it would exclude those of you who are not located in the US. It also excludes those who don't use an iPhone or have access to a computer.
I received some frustrating feedback that readers who wanted to check out Courting Fae Thieves and Crowns, couldn't.
So I wanted to figure out a way that if you want to read my serial story, you don't have to wait for Amazon.
If you've been with me for a while, you might remember that I once had a Patreon page for a short time. My initial intention was so that I could write serial stories (I've wanted to write them since the beginning!) and share them, but I wasn't ready for that commitment and so discontinued it.
But I'm already writing and publishing on Vella, so it makes sense to also have it available on Patreon! So…

Amazon has certain Terms of Service rules for stories published on Kindle Vella, meaning I can't give away any episodes or chapters for free. Because of that, all episodes on Patreon are behind a paywall, but at a low cost.

It's been a crazy Summer so far! We moved right before Christmas of last year and it has been fun getting to know our area now that the weather is warm. There are a lot of things to do in the Summertime in our new neighborhood and my kids are at the right age to take them on all sorts of adventures.
This picture isn't close to where we live, it's in Central Utah, but this trip back in May got us all into bike riding. We love going on the bike trail near our house (when the weather isn't 100 degrees!)
Amazon announced to the authors last week that Kindle Vella will be available to readers sometime this week! They didn't give us an exact date so I'm not sure if it will be available when this email sends (I'm scheduling it a few days in advance). But it will definitely launch this week.
I'm nervous and excited!! Especially since I don't know the exact day it will launch.
I'm scrambling to get everything ready, but COURTING FAE THIEVES AND CROWNS will have four episodes available right at launch. And readers can read the first three episodes of any story for FREE.
It seems that there isn't a way for readers to comment on the stories in Kindle Vella, but I want to talk about and interact with readers so I've created an Instagram page and a Facebook page just for Courting Fae Thieves and Crowns.
